PawnOffers

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

By using our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to any part of it, do not use our services.

PawnOffers helps you find out what an item may be worth and ask local pawn shops for a loan offer. To do that, we need some information about you and your item. This page explains what we collect, who can see it, and what you can do about it.

The short version: we don't sell your personal information. A shop sees your phone number and email only after you accept that shop's offer. The items you scan, without your name or contact details, may be seen by our team, used to make our estimates better, and seen by your preferred partner shop.

Who we are

PawnOffers (pawnoffers.app) is run by Bred Ventures Inc (“we” or “us”). This policy covers the PawnOffers website and web app, the PawnOffers mobile apps for Apple iOS and Android (when available), and the text messages we send. In this policy, “PawnOffers” means all of them.

The pawn shops on PawnOffers are independent businesses. When a shop gets your information through PawnOffers, that shop is also responsible for how it uses it, under its own policies and the law.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your first and last name, the name shops see (for example “Maria G.”), your email address and your password. Your password is handled by our login provider and we can't read it.
  • Phone number: your mobile number, once you confirm it with a code we text you.
  • Location: the city and state you enter, or your device's location if you allow it. We store a map point (latitude and longitude) so we can find shops near you and tell a shop how far away you are.
  • Your items: the photos you take, the category, and the description and details you type in.
  • Requests, offers and messages: the requests you send, the offers shops make, what you do with them, and the messages you exchange with shops in the app.
  • Your choices in the app: for example your preferred shop and whether you want offer texts.

If you run or work at a pawn shop

  • Your name, role at the shop, email and phone number.
  • Shop details: name, address, phone numbers, website, hours, the categories you take, and your offer and alert settings.
  • To claim or verify a shop: the phone number we sent a code to, your pawnbroker license number and state, and a photo or file of the license. License files are kept in private storage that only our team can open.
  • If you ask for an invite: your name, phone number, shop name and website.

Some shop listings start from public information, such as a shop's own website, and our team may add or correct business details.

Information collected automatically

  • Activity in the app: for example when you view a shop's page or tap its phone, directions or review links. We use this to see how the service is working, for example how often each shop is viewed.
  • Technical data: like any website or app, our hosting and database providers receive your IP address, browser or device type, operating system version and request logs when you use PawnOffers.
  • A record of important actions: for example account deletions and actions our team takes on accounts, shops and requests, so we can investigate problems and keep the service safe.

If you try PawnOffers before creating an account, we create a temporary guest account in the background so your scans can be saved. If you sign up later, your scans move to your new account.

In the mobile apps

The iOS and Android apps collect the same information as the website, plus:

  • Camera and photos: only when you take or choose a photo of your item, and only with your permission. We get the photos you pick, not the rest of your photo library.
  • Location: only with your permission, and only while you use the app, to find shops near you. You can type a city instead.
  • Notifications: if you allow them, a device token so we can send you alerts about your requests and offers. You can turn them off in your device's settings.
  • Device and app details: such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash and performance reports, to keep the app working.

You can change camera, photo, location and notification permissions at any time in your device's settings. The apps don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and don't use advertising identifiers.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for your Social Security number, driver's license or other government ID, bank or card details, income, or credit history. A shop may ask for ID and other details in person, as pawnbrokers are required to by law. That happens under the shop's own policies, not through PawnOffers.

How we use it

  • To create and run your account, and to confirm your email and phone number.
  • To give you an automated estimate for your item.
  • To send your request to shops near you that take your kind of item, and to show you their offers.
  • To let you and shops message each other about a request.
  • To send the texts and emails described below.
  • To verify that a shop is real and licensed before it gets customer requests.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and keep PawnOffers secure.
  • To fix problems and improve the service.
  • To make our estimates more accurate: we may look at item scans (photos, category, description and our estimate) and use them to test and improve how we estimate. We use the item, not your name or contact details.
  • To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.

We don't use your information to show you ads, and we don't send marketing texts.

Who sees your information

Your preferred partner shop sees your scans

When you scan an item while a partner shop is your preferred shop (for example, because you arrived from that shop's link), that shop's staff can see the scan, even if you never send it a request:

  • your item's photos, category, description and details, and our estimate;
  • when you scanned it.

They don't see your name, phone number, email or location from a scan. Photos can still show things about you, so keep faces, documents and addresses out of the picture. Scans you made before October 20, 2026 aren't shared this way.

Shops you send a request to

When your request goes to a shop, the shop's staff can see:

  • the name you chose for shops to see (for example “Maria G.”);
  • about how far you are from the shop;
  • your item's photos, category, description and details, and our estimate;
  • the messages you send them.

Your phone number and email stay hidden until you accept that shop's offer. Accepting an offer shares them with that one shop so it can reach you about your visit. The shop keeps access to them afterward as part of its record of the loan. Shops only see requests that were sent to them, plus the scans described above.

Your permission to share

By sending a request, you tell us to share the details above with the shops it goes to, so they can review your item and make you an offer. By accepting an offer, you tell us to share your phone number and email with that shop, and you agree that the shop may call, text or email you about that offer, your visit and your loan.

Once a shop has your information, it is an independent business using it for its own purposes, under its own privacy practices and the law, including the records pawnbrokers are required to keep. We aren't responsible for how a shop uses, keeps or protects your information. Sharing with a shop you choose isn't a sale of your personal information.

Our team

A small number of people at PawnOffers can see account, shop and request information when they need to, for example to help you with a problem, review a shop's license, or look into a report of abuse.

Service providers

Companies that run parts of PawnOffers for us handle some information on our behalf. They're listed in Services we use.

When the law requires it, or to protect people

We may share information if we believe the law requires it (for example a valid subpoena or court order), or to protect the safety, rights or property of our users, the public or PawnOffers. That includes helping with investigations of stolen property.

If the business changes hands

If PawnOffers is sold or merged, or its assets are transferred, your information may move to the new owner, who will have to keep treating it as this policy describes.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising.

AI estimates

When you ask for an estimate, we send your item's photos, category and description to Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, which processes them for us to produce the estimate. We send information about the item, not your name, email or phone number.

We may also keep and review item scans, without your name or contact details, to make our estimates more accurate, for example by checking estimates against what shops actually offer.

An estimate is an automated guess to help you decide what to do next. It's not an appraisal and it's not an offer. Only a shop can make you an offer.

Services we use

These companies process information for us so PawnOffers can work:

  • Supabase: our database, logins, private photo and file storage, and the server code that runs the app.
  • Vercel: hosts the PawnOffers website.
  • Twilio: sends our text messages and verification codes, and places the phone call if a shop owner chooses to get a claim code by call.
  • LeadConnector (GoHighLevel): sends some of our text messages. It receives the phone number and the text, and keeps a record of who replied STOP.
  • Anthropic: produces item estimates from your photos and description.
  • PostHog: our website analytics. It counts visits, shows us which pages people use and where they get stuck, and reports errors on the site. It gets your account's internal ID once you're logged in, never your name, email or phone number. It may record how you move through the customer pages with what you type and your item photos hidden; it doesn't record shop, chat or account settings screens.
  • Our email provider: delivers account emails, such as confirming your address and resetting your password.
  • Map lookup services (the US Census Bureau Geocoder, Open-Meteo and OpenStreetMap's Nominatim): turn a city, address or map point into a location, or the other way around. Our server sends only the place or coordinates to be looked up, never your name or contact details.

Some pages link to other sites, such as Google Maps for directions or a shop's Yelp page. If you follow those links, that site's own privacy policy applies.

If you download a PawnOffers app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google handles the download, and any payment or review you leave there, under its own privacy policy. They don't get your PawnOffers account information from us.

Text messages

We text you only about your account and your requests: verification codes, updates about your offers, and (for shop staff who switch them on) alerts about new requests. Customers can turn offer texts off in Settings, and anyone can reply STOP to stop texts. Message and data rates may apply.

We don't share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Full details are in our SMS Terms.

Cookies and browser storage

PawnOffers doesn't use cookies for advertising or tracking, and we don't run ad scripts. Our own analytics (PostHog, see Services we use) keeps a random visitor ID in your browser's storage so visits can be counted, and it switches off if your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.

We use your browser's own storage for a few things the app needs:

  • keeping you logged in;
  • remembering a shop's referral code if you arrived from its link, and where to send you after you log in;
  • remembering which messages you've already seen, and your place in a list.

The mobile apps keep the same kind of information in the app's own storage on your device.

Clearing your browser's site data removes these and logs you out. Because we don't sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing for a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off, but we treat those signals as a request not to sell or share, which we already honor.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your information while your account is open and for as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy.

You can delete your account yourself in Settings. When you do:

  • items you never sent to a shop, and their estimates, are deleted;
  • your name is replaced with “Deleted user”, and your phone number and location are removed from your profile;
  • your login is closed, so no one can sign in to the account again;
  • texts waiting to be sent to you, and your text alert settings, are removed.

Some records are kept. A request you sent to a shop is also that shop's business record. So requests, offers, outcomes and messages, and the items and photos they were about, are kept but show “Deleted user” instead of your name. A shop that already received your phone number or email after you accepted its offer may keep its own copy. We also keep records we need for security, to prevent fraud, to resolve disputes or to meet legal obligations.

You can't delete your account while you have an accepted offer that the shop hasn't closed out, or a request still waiting on a shop. The app tells you what's outstanding. If you need help, email support@pawnoffers.app.

Your choices

  • Update your name, location and phone number in Settings.
  • Decide whether to allow your device's location. You can type a city instead.
  • In the mobile apps, turn camera, photo, location and notification access on or off in your device's settings.
  • Turn offer texts on or off in Settings, or reply STOP to any text.
  • Delete your account in Settings.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@pawnoffers.app.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you the rights below. We honor them for all of our users.

What we collect, in the law's terms

In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: name, email address, phone number, account ID, IP address.
  • Commercial information: the items you ask about, estimates, requests, offers and their outcomes.
  • Geolocation data: your city and state, and your device's location if you allow it.
  • Photos: the pictures you upload of your items, and shop license images.
  • Internet or other network activity: how you use the app, such as which shop pages you view.
  • Professional information (shop staff only): your role at a shop and your pawnbroker license details.
  • Sensitive personal information: your account login, and precise location if you allow your device's location. We use these only to provide the service you asked for, keep it secure and prevent fraud, not to learn things about you.

We collect this from you, from your device, from shops (such as their offers and messages), and from public sources for shop listings. We use it for the purposes in How we use it and disclose it only as described in Who sees your information. We keep each category as described in How long we keep it.

In the last 12 months we have disclosed identifiers, commercial information, geolocation data and photos to the shops you sent requests to, at your direction; item photos and commercial information about scanned items, without identifiers, to your preferred partner shop; and each category to the service providers listed in Services we use, for business purposes. None of these disclosures is a sale or sharing for advertising.

Your rights

  • Right to know: ask what personal information we have about you, where it came from, why we have it, and who we've disclosed it to, and ask for a copy.
  • Right to delete: ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to the exceptions the law allows (such as records we must keep). You can also delete your account yourself in Settings.
  • Right to correct: ask us to fix information that's wrong. You can change most of it yourself in Settings.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we don't sell your personal information and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we haven't in the last 12 months. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing information of anyone under 16.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: we only use it for the purposes the law allows without offering this choice.
  • Right not to be treated differently: we won't deny you service, charge you more, or give you a worse experience for using any of these rights.

How to make a request

Email support@pawnoffers.app from the email address on your account and tell us what you'd like. To protect you, we check that the request really comes from you, usually by matching it to your account, and we may ask for more information if we can't. We aim to respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need more time as the law allows.

You can have an authorized agent make a request for you. We'll ask for proof that you gave them permission, and we may still need to confirm your identity with you directly.

“Shine the Light”

We don't share personal information with other companies for their own direct marketing.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. Item photos and license files are kept in private storage and are shown through short-lived links only to people allowed to see them. Database access rules limit each person to what they're allowed to see. Connections to PawnOffers are encrypted.

No system is perfectly secure. Use a strong password you don't use anywhere else, and tell us right away at support@pawnoffers.app if you think your account has been misused.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 to use PawnOffers. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, email support@pawnoffers.app and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PawnOffers changes. We'll change the “Last updated” date at the top, and if the changes are significant we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
